Acknowledge the Passing of Each Day

People have become more obsessed with productivity apps than ever before. It is all in a quest to manage time. The concept of time has always baffled us, yet everything is looked at and understood from the perspective of time. From seconds to decades, time is measured, and we know that time is the most precious thing we possess.

“Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week. There is a clock on your wall or the dashboard of your car. You have a schedule, a calendar, a time for dinner or a movie. Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures. A fear of time running out.” Mitch Albom

Sometimes we get caught in our rigid timetables and schedules that we barely notice the changing seasons around us. It’s years in a row that might go past us in the mad rush of being productive. Let this be your reminder to take a pause, relax, and enjoy your precious ‘time’ on this planet. In the grand scope of time, aren’t our lives but a speck? In time, we last a lot shorter than a blink, so revel in your time.

Acknowledge the passage of each day. I found it really therapeutic when I took time every day to be grateful to live through that day. To be alive and have a chance at life is something to be grateful for, isn’t it?
