Post-pandemic, the social media world saw a trend of trad wife influencers getting popular. Suddenly, we started seeing too many trad wives on screen. Trad wives stand for traditional wives. These influencers are claiming that they are embracing their true gender roles and choosing to be stay-at-home wives and moms. These influencers tend to portray themselves working in their kitchen, often making bread and cheese from scratch every day, in flawless clothes and makeup. They are striving to paint the picture of an ideal wife and mother. How charming is it not? But if you take a moment to reflect, you will understand that it is unrealistic.

What I find problematic about these trad wife influencers is the fact that they are deceiving a whole lot of young people. When I say deception, I mean to point out that none of these women are traditional wives attending solely to their domestic chores. These women are social media influencers possibly earning more than a mid-level job. If these influencers are actually influencing, then we have a crisis at hand. Not only will this take the fight that feminists all over the world have been fighting a whole lot backward, but it would also make a lot of young women distraught.
